According to the manufacturer:
'...The InstaSPA has a unique floating child-safe cover. The cover has an inflatable raft portion which actually floats on the water.this allows it to hold up to 4 feet of snow and will also hold the weight of a child. Also the cover has a locking system that will keep children out of the spa when adults are not around. The Lockable, Child-Safe Cover is easily removed when you want to enjoy your InstaSPA™...'
